Oct 30, 2017: Catholic Sabha Moodbidri Ghatak organized “Senior Citizens Day” at the Corpus Christi Church Hall on Sunday 29 October 2017 from 9.30 a.m. until lunch in the afternoon. About 76 senior citizens were present.
Rev. Frs. Antony Fernandes and Francis Dsouza heard the confessions of the elders from 9.30 a.m. to 10.00 a.m. Breakfast was served to all until 10.30 a.m. The Mass started at 10.30 a.m. Rev. Fr. Francis D’souza - Director of the St. Antony’s Ashram Mangalore celebrated the Holy Eucharistic Sacrifice. He preached and explained the seniors how to face their elderly life with patience and prayers, live happily with the family and share their feeling and experiences with their co-ordinates. This will ease their tension and stress and keep them going. God will always be with them when they keep praying.
After the mass Catholic Sabha organized a short programme when Mr. Anil Lobo – President Catholic Sabha – Mangalore Pradesh, Mr. Harry Rego – Varado President, Rev. Fr. Francis Dsouza and Parish Priest V. Rev. Fr. Paul Sequeira conveyed their messages to the Seniors with short speeches. Then the organizers sang songs and played games to entertain them. Prizes and gifts were distributed to all. After this a good lunch was shared by all with jokes and laughter.
